Month One

Month one overview

Month one starts from now and the proposed first meet up will be Saturday 24th of May and a further meet up Sunday 6th June., you are not required to attend both days but are more than welcome to do so.

Month one is all about getting started and with small sized armies the games will be fast and bloody.
Games of Triumph and treachery ( 3-5 player free for all) will be used as well as the pitched battle (Standard 1v1 6 turn game) scenario.

If you require any sort of tutorial or are unclear about rules please feel free to ask questions, a thread on the Swedish warhammer forums will be created.

Models are required to be based and painted to a three colour minimum and have appropriate equipment on the model with movement trays as required.
I wont be super picky but we will be trying to adhere to the what you see is what you get, from now on know as  WYSIWYG.
Meaning if your character is mounted on a horse, an appropriated sized mount and base is required.
Creativity is more than encouraged but should never impact on the visibility/play-ability of the game.
If you have anything you are unsure please feel free to ask.

Models do not have to be Gamesworkshop, alternatives and conversions are welcome however adhere to the above statement.

We will be using true line of sight, however hills are ''infinitely'' high and block line of site however models on a hill revert back to the standard true line of sight. Meaning a model on a hill cannot see another model behind a building because the building blocks line of sight still.
Basically a model standing on a infinitely high hill does not have vision to all models true line of sight is still used to determine sight.

Introducing The Conquest Fields

Welcome to the Conquest Fields.

Conquest Fields is a escalation league for Warhammer Fantasy.

Over the course of a year participants will build, paint and play games with thier chosen army and watch how their army grows each month, with a meet up at the end of every month for some games and a show and tell.

We will be starting at 500points of painted models and each month add 250 points of painted models until a total of 2500 points has been reached, culminating in a mini tournament for the participants.
This is the perfect entry to getting a Warhammer Fantasy army ready for most of the standard play/tournaments.

We will be playing mainly uncomped Warhammer with games of 'Triumph and Treachery' and scenarios from the rule book. Some adjustments to the rules are made for the earlier stages.

Whilst building our armies unit sizes will be ignored but must not be abused. For example taking ten one-man units of skinks instead of one unit of ten will NOT be allowed.
We ask that all players play in to the spirit of  the league during this this time and whilst playing each other maintain a high level of sportsmanship and help those that need it.
We are here to learn/enjoy/create and share this hobby.
More detailed rules/restrictions for each month will be posted in that months blog post.

During this time players are encouraged to not just play at the meet up at the end of the month, but ongoingly challenge and communicate with each other.
It will not be mandatory to meet at the end of the month and you can still participate even if you are not able to attend.
I will be updating this blog with battle reports, pictures of the armies and interviews with players about their armies etc if they would like, and of course running a league table.
At the end of the month I will post the league table for those who would like to track their results with players, games played and games won.

If you have any questions or would like to join the Conquest Fields please email me at conquestfields@gmail.com
