Month Three and The First Summoning

Hello all after another great meet up I am proud to post month three's rules, bits and pieces plus a special event with prizes!

Month two was hit with vacations and such however we are well over 20 unique players total and going strong.
I am very happy to announce the first of hopefully many special events.

These special events are not mandatory and happen once every two months.

Registration opens at 11:00 and starts at 11:45.
26/7 is The First Summoning

The First Summoning:

You stumble in the dark demanding an answer from the shadows,
A voice replies ''The second full moon of Morrslieb awaits those who wish to alter the fate of the world''
You reply, ''Where?''
The voice points towards a faint glow in the distance.

The First Summoning is a call of champions from all corners, it will be the first in a line of events that will change the Old World.

The Forces of Order will band together for an unlikely alliance to close an opening rift.
The Forces of Destruction will also forge an unholy alliance to stop the closing of the rift.

If the rift is closed the Forces of Order have prevented more evil spreading into the Old World

If the rift is protected and allowed to fully open evil will seep throughout the lands.

The Forces of Order will claim victory when the last Character from the Forces of Destruction is slain.
The Forces of Destruction will claim victory when the last Character from the Forces of Order is slain.

Rules:

Points Limits:

  • Lord/Hero: 1 model up to 250points

Restrictions and Clarifications:

Anyone wishing to answer the call must bring a single Lord/Hero character up to 250points from their army book
Any mounts listed in the models entry may be taken.
Special characters are allowed
You must bring an appropriate fully painted model to represent your character. W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G (What you see is what you get)
You may still bring a magic user however no spells will be generated and the winds of magic will not be rolled at all during The First Summoning.
No challenges may be issued of any kind.
No break checks will be taken, you will fight to the death.
All models will count as a single model and can never join another to form a unit.

All the standard Conquest fields games will also be taking place during the day.

Magic will continue to be restricted to maximum of 4 dice to cast spells and 4 dice to be used to dispel, no extra dice may be added from any other sources to increase the total number of dice used for casting attempts and dispel attempts, if people feel this needs adjusting then we can discuss this at the meet up.

Month Two

Month Two:

Month two is here!

Points Size:
750

Army restrictions:
Standard rule book allowances
  • Maximum 187 points Lords
  • Maximum 187 points Heroes
  • Minimum 188 points Core
  • Maximum 375 points Special
  • Maximum 187 points Rare

Minimum unit sizes:

Minimum unit sizes will be ignored this month but are expected to be built upon in the coming months to make them legal and may not be abused whilst the restriction is ignored.

Magic restrictions:

Magic is now 'Unlocked' and will be played as the rule book with one exception, a maximum number of four dice may be used to cast all spells. No extra dice may be added from any other sources to increase the total number of dice used.
We discussed 2d3 worth of dice being generated instead of the standard 2d6 however I feel the restriction on the number of dice used to cast a spell should manage the problems of people ''six dicing'' each other and also making the bigger spells less reliable.
So 2d6 will be rolled for the winds of magic.

Magic items:

Magic items may be taken and each models maximum allowance applies as normal.

See you on the 28th June at Alphaspel!

Aftermath Month one

Aftermath: Month one

Well the first month is over and wow, we have had a great turnout.
With over twenty people meeting up it was certainly a great success and a massive thanks to all those who attended, your armies looked fantastic and it has been an inspiration and give me a major hobby high.

I always knew 500 points would be a tough month as the game at this point level is very bloody and very explosive with just a poor dice roll your army can self destruct, however i felt that we still had a great deal of fun.

With month two's meet up in just under a couple of weeks I hope everyone is painting and building and I hope to see many fantastic magical moments now that the wind of magic are unlocked!

Here are some photo's from the meet ups, enjoy!

Month One

Month one overview

Month one starts from now and the proposed first meet up will be Saturday 24th of May and a further meet up Sunday 6th June., you are not required to attend both days but are more than welcome to do so.

Month one is all about getting started and with small sized armies the games will be fast and bloody.
Games of Triumph and treachery ( 3-5 player free for all) will be used as well as the pitched battle (Standard 1v1 6 turn game) scenario.

If you require any sort of tutorial or are unclear about rules please feel free to ask questions, a thread on the Swedish warhammer forums will be created.

Models are required to be based and painted to a three colour minimum and have appropriate equipment on the model with movement trays as required.
I wont be super picky but we will be trying to adhere to the what you see is what you get, from now on know as  WYSIWYG.
Meaning if your character is mounted on a horse, an appropriated sized mount and base is required.
Creativity is more than encouraged but should never impact on the visibility/play-ability of the game.
If you have anything you are unsure please feel free to ask.

Models do not have to be Gamesworkshop, alternatives and conversions are welcome however adhere to the above statement.

We will be using true line of sight, however hills are ''infinitely'' high and block line of site however models on a hill revert back to the standard true line of sight. Meaning a model on a hill cannot see another model behind a building because the building blocks line of sight still.
Basically a model standing on a infinitely high hill does not have vision to all models true line of sight is still used to determine sight.

Points size:
500

Army restrictions:
Standard rule book allowances

  • Maximum 125 points Lords
  • Maximum 125 points Heroes
  • Minimum 125 points Core
  • Maximum 250 points Special
  • Maximum 125 points Rare
Minimum unit sizes:
Minimum unit sizes will be ignored this month but are expected to be built upon in the coming months to make them legal and may not be abused whilst the restriction is ignored.

Magic restrictions:
You may still bring a magic user however he will not generate spells and his magic level will be ignored and the winds of magic will not be rolled at all during month one.
For example a Level one Vampire may lead a Vampire army for month one, however he does not generate spells or roll dice during the winds of magic.
The Daemons of chaos Reign of Chaos rule will be ignored as there will be no wind of magic.

Magic items:
Magic items may be taken and each models maximum allowance applies as normal.

That's all folks, remember this is for fun, it's why we do it.
See you May 24th

Spoofy out!

Introducing The Conquest Fields

Welcome to the Conquest Fields.

Conquest Fields is a escalation league for Warhammer Fantasy.

Over the course of a year participants will build, paint and play games with thier chosen army and watch how their army grows each month, with a meet up at the end of every month for some games and a show and tell.

We will be starting at 500points of painted models and each month add 250 points of painted models until a total of 2500 points has been reached, culminating in a mini tournament for the participants.
This is the perfect entry to getting a Warhammer Fantasy army ready for most of the standard play/tournaments.

We will be playing mainly uncomped Warhammer with games of 'Triumph and Treachery' and scenarios from the rule book. Some adjustments to the rules are made for the earlier stages.

Whilst building our armies unit sizes will be ignored but must not be abused. For example taking ten one-man units of skinks instead of one unit of ten will NOT be allowed.
We ask that all players play in to the spirit of  the league during this this time and whilst playing each other maintain a high level of sportsmanship and help those that need it.
We are here to learn/enjoy/create and share this hobby.
More detailed rules/restrictions for each month will be posted in that months blog post.

During this time players are encouraged to not just play at the meet up at the end of the month, but ongoingly challenge and communicate with each other.
It will not be mandatory to meet at the end of the month and you can still participate even if you are not able to attend.
I will be updating this blog with battle reports, pictures of the armies and interviews with players about their armies etc if they would like, and of course running a league table.
At the end of the month I will post the league table for those who would like to track their results with players, games played and games won.

If you have any questions or would like to join the Conquest Fields please email me at conquestfields@gmail.com
